A highly informative guest lecture on "Cyber Crime Awareness" was successfully organized for 130 students of S Y B Pharm and Third Year B Pharm. The primary objective was to educate future healthcare professionals on robust online security practices for both personal and professional domains.
The seminar was led by the distinguished resource person, Mr. Vijaykumar Choubey, Commissioner of Police, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Addl Director General, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Pune. Leveraging his extensive experience in law enforcement, Mr. Choubey delivered a compelling presentation covering critical modern cyber threats, including:
1. Identifying and avoiding Phishing and Social Engineering scams.
2. Safeguarding against various forms of Financial Fraud (UPI, ATM, and online banking).
3. Best practices for Data Security and Privacy (strong passwords, 2FA, and social media use).
4. An overview of Legal Recourse and the Information Technology Act for reporting cybercrime.
The interactive session effectively used real-life case studies and practical advice, successfully promoting responsible digital citizenship and building essential cyber resilience among all participants.
